Steve Holl Consulting has extensive experience evaluating fuels hazards; identifying ecological relationships between fire, fuels, and other resources; and developing effective fuels reduction plans.  The firm usually teams with Wildland Rx (Placerville, CA) a leading fuels management consultant with extensive modelling and fuels treatment experience.  As a team, they have developed a unique approach to identifying projects and prioritizing those projects, as required by the Healthy Forest Resoration Act.
 
The firm has assisted with preparation of:
  • Eddy Gulch Late-Successional Reserve Fuel Reduction Plan and EIS (Klamath National Forest, Yreka, CA)
  • Comprehensive Fuels Treatment Plan for the Lake Tahoe Basin Wildland Urban Interface (Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Stateline, NV)

  • Effects of fire and rain on large mammals in the San Gabriel Mountains, CA (in prep).  
  • An evluation of biomass opportunities in the Lake Basin (Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Stateline, NV); 
  • Programatic and site-specific NEPA and CEQA documents for fuels treatments.
