All Community Wildfire Protection Plans are consistent with the Healthy Forest Restoration
Act and are based on the besed available data, fire behavior modelling, and cost-effective treatments. Selected projects

of Emergency Services, Auburn, CA);
- Community Wildfire Protection Plan for the California portion of the Lake Tahoe
Basin(Nevada Fire Safe Council,Carson City, NV) ; Community Wildfire Protection Plan for eastern
Tulare County (Tulare County RCD, Visalia, CA)
- CEQA documents for Gold Hill, Grizzly Flat, and Volcano, in El Dorado County.

First, by combining spatial data of ignitions and fuels hazards they create a new
map layer, termed fire susceptibility. The fire susceptibility map ranks areas with the highest hazards and most
ignitions and all other combinations down to areas with the lowest hazards and fewest ignitions. Second, they use dwelling
densities to identify the wildland urban interface. By integrating this information they are able to assist fire
agencies identify the strategic location and objectively prioritize projects.
